Review
Fastest recovery in the Rheem range at 77 L/hr. Uses R513a — a transitional refrigerant that’s an R134a/R1234yf blend with a GWP of 631. That’s better than straight R134a (GWP 1,430) but not as low-impact as R290 (GWP 3) or CO₂ (GWP 1). The higher heating capacity (4 kW) means it recovers faster than the AmbiPower models despite a slightly lower COP of 4.4.
At standard NZ electricity rates of ~30c/kWh, this delivers an effective hot water cost of approximately 6.8c per kWh — still a substantial saving of over 70% compared to a conventional electric resistance cylinder. The 270L stainless steel tank produces approximately 400 litres of hot water at 40°C, making it well suited to larger households.
The system operates in ambient temperatures from −5°C to 43°C. Below that range, a 2.4 kW backup element activates automatically. Can be installed indoors (minimum 13m³ ventilated space) or outdoors. Input power draw is 0.985 kW. Good for busy families who run through hot water quickly.
